J. A. Tenreiro Machado was born at 1957, graduated with the ‘Licenciatura’ (1980), PhD. (1989) and ‘Agregation’ (1995) degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Porto. During 1980-1998 he worked as Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Porto. Since 1998 he is Coordinator Professor at the Institute of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Department of Electrical Engineering.

 

Research Interests

The main research work is on the areas of Robotics, Nonlinear Dynamics, Modeling, Control, Fractional Calculus, Intelligent Transportation Systems and Evolutionary Computing.
