Alexandra Galhano graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Porto, in 1976. She pursued graduate studies and obtaining in 1979 a M.Sc. Degree in ‘Applied Sciences - Telecommunications’ at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, and in 1992 a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Porto. She worked as Professor for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Porto, up to 1998. Since 1998 she works at the Institute of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto and presently she is a Coordinator Professor in Electrical Engineering.

 

Research Interests: Modeling, Control, Robotics, Biomechanics and Fractional-order Systems.
